Having A Ball – Short Play

“It’s easy to be radical in Oxford because the bar’s low and they give you everything you could want. That chip on your shoulder, that had nothing to do with me, that’s all you. And anyway, how are you going to pay off your student loan? Have you thought about that? You’re just part of the system, just like the rest of us.”

In the summer of 2013 I participated in the Young Writers’ Scheme at the North Wall theatre in Oxford. I worked alongside a large group of actors, technicians and designers. My short piece, Having A Ball, was performed as part of the showcase and explores the uncertainty facing students once they leave university. I also hosted interactive sessions on theatre, politics and the environment for the group.
